The dark room shows most clearly what the Park of Love is about. It is not simply a park, but something that leads you to take responsibility for your own life.
There is no outside teacher here to tell you what to experience or how to be “right”. There are no instructions and no rituals… and no outside person to take responsibility for you.
If we are used to following instructions and doing things correctly and in the same way as everyone else, then a place without them is exactly what frightens us.
In the dark room at the Park of Love, things are no different. Here too there are no outside distractions, teachers or people to take responsibility. There is only the one who is closest to every person: themselves.
Meeting that “self” in the dark room, you may find that you are not actually afraid of the dark. You are afraid of what comes out of the dark… you are afraid of yourself.
How much of that fear has to do with the truth?
